April 17th-18th, Changsha-the Spring 2024 Progress Meeting of the National Key R&D Program, Development of Internationally Equivalent High-Precision Measuring Instruments and Standards (Phase I) (Project No. 2022YFF0607700) under the Key Special Project National Quality Infrastructure of the National Key R&D Program, was successfully held in Changsha.

The conference was hosted by Changsha TUNKIA Co., Ltd. Wang Yang, Director of Hunan Institute of Metrology and Test, and Professor Wang Chunxi, the overall expert of the NQI project, attended the conference. More than 60 experts and scholars participated in the meeting, including 9 consulting experts from National Institute of Metrology, China, AVIC Changcheng Institute of Metrology & Measurement, National University of Defense Technology, School of Electrical Engineering at Hunan University, School of Energy at Central South University, Heilongjiang Institute of Metrology and Testing, Hunan Electrician Institute of Science, Wuhan University, and Hunan University of Science and Technology, as well as project and task leaders and representatives from various participating units.

The project, led by the Hunan Institute of Metrology and Test, involves a consortium of 10 associations and comprises 5 sub-projects. TUNKIA is involved in Task 6 of Topic 2, Development of an 8.5 Digit Standard Digital Multimeter Prototype, Task 4 of Topic 3, Development of a Class 0.005 Three-Phase Wideband AC Energy Standard Prototype, and also leads Topic 5, Engineering and Application of High-Precision Metrological Instruments and Standards for Basic Electrical and Geometric Quantities. The project focuses on the development of core instruments and standards for the NQI, aiming to address the bottleneck in high-end instrument development and achieve independent control, thus supporting high-quality industrial development.

The conference conducted a review of the overall progress of the project and the implementation of project funds. Each sub-project leader reported on their research progress and engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as collaborative implementation and outcome refinement. The expert panel highly praised the research achievements of the project and its sub-projects, providing many forward-looking and actionable suggestions and opinions that strongly support the smooth progress of the project.

During the conference, participants visited the TUNKIA exhibition hall. The expert panel and project team commended the company's achievements in recent years and engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues in the manufacturing of electrical measurement instruments.

The conference invited Associate Researcher Liu Yue from the National Institute of Metrology, China and Professor Zhang Leihong from Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology to give academic presentations and share their experiences in the fields of electrical and optical metrology, respectively. TUNKIA's General Manager, Zhou Xinhua, delivered an academic presentation on The Architecture of the New Generation Precision Instrument Measurement System, introducing the company's current research and development direction and latest progress in precision measurement instruments to the participants. The experts at the event expressed their anticipation for TUNKIA to remain committed to practicality and innovation, introduce more internationally acclaimed products, and explore the forefront of electromagnetic measurement development.
