From September 19th to 21st, under the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) framework supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the first "LMC Metrology Training on Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Verification and Hydropower Measurement" was successfully held at Changsha Tunkia Co., Ltd., led by the National Institute of Metrology, China (NIM). After completing their studies at NIM, key technical personnel from the National Institutes of Metrology of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam (NMC, DoSM, NIMM, NIMT, VMI) participated in hands-on training at Tunkia, focusing on the verification of electric vehicle charger testers.
On the morning of the 19th, the scholars arrived at Tunkia and were warmly welcomed by the staff. They began their visit with a tour of the company's multimedia exhibition hall, gaining insights into Tunkia's history, technological innovations, and key products. The group then explored the state-of-the-art smart factory, where they witnessed cutting-edge manufacturing processes in action. Tunkia experts provided an in-depth introduction to their range of EV charging station testing products, explaining their technical features and operational procedures. This was followed by a productive exchange, where both sides engaged in detailed discussions on testing methodologies and future collaboration opportunities.
Tunkia engineers showcased a variety of testing solutions for EV charger testers, covering key international standards such as the European CCS2 and the Chinese GB/T, along with solutions for vehicle-mounted charger testing. Each testing method was thoroughly explained, highlighting the specific requirements and challenges of different regional standards. Following the demonstrations, the scholars, with guidance from Tunkia’s training engineers, began their hands-on training. They practiced using both AC and DC EV charger testers, gaining experience with the accompanying software to conduct real-world tests on EV chargers, simulating various operational conditions. This practical session helped solidify their understanding of the testing procedures and software applications.
On the 21st, with the technical guidance of Tunkia experts and engineers, the scholars successfully completed their hands-on training. The intensive sessions equipped them with practical skills in EV charger testing and calibration. To mark the achievement, Tunkia experts presented the scholars with completion certificates, recognizing their hard work and new expertise in advanced testing techniques.
This training program further strengthened extensive exchange and cooperation between Chinese metrology and the international community. It also holds significant importance for the clean energy transition in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. In the future, Tunkia will continue to launch more internationally standardized electromagnetic measurement products, providing strong technical support for sustainable development and bringing Chinese products to the global stage.
